How Heritage Wheels Are Made

Heritage builds wheels two ways. MonoC wheels are cast and kept in stock, ready to ship. Forged wheels are made to order for your car. Here is how each one comes together.

MonoC: gravity-cast, one piece

Every MonoC wheel starts as A356 aluminum, gravity-cast in a mold. In gravity casting, molten aluminum is poured into the mold and gravity fills it. No pressure is used to force the metal in.

The wheel comes out as a one-piece cast monoblock. The face and barrel are a single piece. No bolts, no seams, nothing to reassemble.

Certified

MonoC wheels are JWL/VIA certified. JWL is the Japanese standard for alloy wheels. VIA is the independent body that tests and registers wheels to that standard.

Finished

Standard MonoC finishes are powder coat: Classic Silver, Midnight Black, Arctic White, Sakura Pink and Satin Bronze, depending on the model. Chrome plating is available on some models. Custom powder coat comes in thousands of colors and takes several weeks.

Drilled to fit

Stock MonoC wheels come in 5x100 and 5x114.3, with 4x100 on the Kokoro 4-Lug and 5x127 or 6x139.7 on Kokoro-OR. We also custom drill 5x98, 5x105, 5x108, 5x110, 5x112, 5x115 and 5x120 for $30 per wheel. Custom-drilled wheels are ready in 7 to 10 business days.

The MonoC center bore is 73.1 mm (106.1 mm on the 6-lug Kokoro-OR), so most cars need hub-centric rings.

Forged: made to order

Heritage Forged wheels are fully forged 6061-T6 aluminum. Every set is made to order, from concept design to machining to final assembly.

Engineered

Each design is FEA tested for strength. FEA, short for finite element analysis, is computer stress testing. It models how a design handles stress.

Built your way

  • 3-piece and 2-piece multi-piece builds.
  • One-piece forged monoblock builds.
  • Beadlock builds, including the R Series for drag racing.

Diameters run from 15 to 24 inches. Face profiles include convex, shallow concave, deep concave, floating leg and DuoBlock. Width, offset and bolt pattern are built to your specs. Standard sets get a powder-coated center, a high-polished outer and triple chrome stainless hardware. From there, the finish is up to you.

Forged sets start at $4,199 for four and take 8 to 12 weeks. Like MonoC, Forged wheels carry a 1-year structural warranty.
